Cimarrón Golf Resort features two world-class layouts designed by John Fought. Cimarrón, named after the vibrant purple flower, also means “wild and untamed”. Cimarrón strives against the cookie-cutter and condo-lined course characteristics that are predominant in Palm Springs golf. Enhancing the stark beauty of the native desert, Cimarrón utilizes European-style characteristics such as sod-wall bunkers filled with white crushed marble against the creative contouring of the emerald fairways. Course Information

Our 36-hole facility masterfully crafted into the native desert setting and incorporating a variety of European-like characteristics. Things such as creative moundings, large jagged-edged bunkers and several British-style sod wall bunkers filled with brilliant white crushed marble. All shots are cleverly framed with strategically positioned bunkers, natural desert landscape and water hazards set against beautiful mountain backdrops. The greens are expansive with subtle undulations.

The Long Course, featuring four sets of tee positions to accommodate any skill level, stretches 6,858 yards and yields generous landing areas and very large greens protected by high-lipped bunkers filled with crushed white marble.

The Short Course, at par 56, will provide any low-handicapper with a great opportunity to test his or her skill, patience and short-game shot making. The Short Course features 16 outstanding par-3’s and two equally classic par-4’s and is ideal for players looking for a quick round, for family gatherings or for beginners.

The Short Course is an instrumental part of Cimarrón’s commitment to growing the game of golf as it provides an alternative facility, easing the time, expense and intimidation barriers of entry into the game of golf. At 3156 yards and par 56, Cimarron’s Short Course also helps ease the time barrier so often mentioned when complaints about golf arise. Cimarron is taking the lead in the Coachella Valley to grow the game of golf in Palm Springs. We will soon be announcing new programs that help ease the barriers of entry into the game of golf such as time, cost and intimidation. In the meantime, Cimarron proudly offers an expansive, two-sided practice facility and a state-of-the-art instruction program headed by our Director of Instruction, Jim Wilkinson to help groove the swing of any player type.

Also available to ease intimidation is our Short Course. In the spirit of growing the game of golf, Cimarron’s Short Course (sixteen Par 3 and two Par 4 holes of regulation size) is an example of an alternative facility which affords the junior, senior or beginner golfer the opportunity to experience the wonderful nuances of a regulation, championship golf course without the long distances or shots that force a long carry over water or hazards (the beautiful #1 hole excluded!)

Cimarrón Golf Resort is conveniently located only a few minutes from downtown Palm Springs and Palm Springs International Airport. Exit the 10 Freeway on Date Palm and travel South toward downtown Palm Springs. At 30th Ave. turn right and continue through the traffic signal at Landau until it dead ends into the clubhouse.
